Spruce Pine Fir Wood (SPF)

Primarily used in India for interior uses and door manufacturing purpose. It is an economy-grade wood that is also used for making of the pallets and for filling purpose. Before supply, it is processed under the guidance of Quality Experts.

Color/Appearance SPF is soft, straight, even-grained, medium to fine-textured, and produces a lustrous finish. The heartwood is a pale yellowish white, and there is little difference between the heartwood and sapwood.
Workability SPF is easily worked, glues well, is average in paint holding ability, and takes nails and screws satisfactorily. It is not very durable and is difficult to penetrate with preservatives.
Odor No characteristic odor.
Allergies/Toxicity Although severe reactions are quite uncommon, Spruce in the Picea genus has been reported as a sensitizer. Usually most common reactions simply include skin irritation and/or respiratory disorders.
Pricing/Availability Construction grade spruce is cheap and easy to find. However, quartersawn clear pieces—free from knots—are much more expensive.
